TESTIMONIALS

Brandon B.
I went to sleep at 2am. Up @ 8am. Not only no hangover, but not even the underlying blah feeling. Thanks!!

I was very skeptical that there was a real product like this. I've tried lots of those packets at gas stations and quick-stop shops that make some big claims, none of them work whatsoever. Sobrietol is truely amazing! I was in shock the next morning when I did not have any hangover symptoms after a long night of drinking.

Frank Honnington.

Worked like a charm! I took a cab home at 1:30am after having way too many drinks with my friends on Kareoke night. Being 43 years old, I am well aware of how much wine I could consume before reaching the "possible hangover" stage. I went past that stage, took the Sobrietol, and woke up the next morning feeling fine. I was not expecting this at all, this is really an amazing product!

Sobrietol® Mechanism

Alcohol Metabolism. When ingested alcohol first enters the stomach, the alcohol concentration in the stomach lumen may reach values well over 1000 mM [for reference, the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at the DUI limit of .08% » 20 mM]. While in the stomach the alcohol is slowly absorbed across the stomach wall into the circulation according to a passive diffusion process. The pyloric sphincter situated proximally between the stomach and the duodenum governs gastric-emptying. When the pyloric sphincter opens, stomach contents enter the duodenum and the rest of the small intestine including the ileum and jejunum. As before, the alcohol is absorbed into the circulation from the small intestine according to passive diffusion. However, due to the extraordinary surface area available in the small intestine, alcohol absorption in the small intestine is very rapid: alcohol absorption in the small intestine is approximately 7-fold faster than alcohol absorption in the stomach1. Circulation from both the stomach and the small intestine ultimately enters the portal vein. Blood from the portal vein then enters the liver where a portion of the blood alcohol is metabolized before it is pumped by the heart to the brain and the rest of the vasculature.

Gastric emptying, governed by the pylorus is not completely understood and at times may appear to be random. In addition to a number of drugs that can accelerate or decelerate gastric emptying, solid food in the stomach slows gastric emptying as does high alcohol concentrations. Therefore, the proportion of alcohol absorbed in the stomach and small intestine, respectively can and does vary. The nominal rule of thumb states that 20% of alcohol is absorbed in the stomach; however, stomach alcohol absorption values from 0% to over 50% have been observed.

Sobrietol® The dynamic components of Sobrietol® are two enzymes and the cofactor NAD(H) (Figure 2). The first enzyme, alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) specifically oxidizes alcohol (ethanol) to acetaldehyde while at the same time reducing NAD to NADH. Acetaldehyde, more toxic than ethanol and suspected by many as the etiologic agent in the hangover syndrome, then reacts with methionine, another component of Sobrietol® The reduced NADH is then recycled back to NAD by the second enzyme, glycerol dehydrogenase (GDH) along with the substrate dihydroxyacetone (DHA).

Sobrietol Science

When ingested Sobrietol® first acts to clear gastric alcohol. If the enzymes survive the acidic gastric environment (pH 1.5), it eventually empties into the small intestine where alcohol will be cleared from the small intestine. With the absence of alcohol in the lumen of the small intestine, alcohol from blood in the circulation exsorbs from the vasculature into the lumen of the small intestine where it is cleared in turn by Sobrietol®.

New Paradigm Health Systems, Inc. is developing for commercial and professional use the only patented technology that has been proven to reduce the Blood Alcohol Content (BAC). Tests have indicated that NPHS BAC reduction technology reduces the BAC 3-6 times faster than a body's normal metabolism.

BAC reduction technology is made from natural ingredients which meet the FDA's 'Generally Regarded as Safe' standards.

Taken immediately before consuming alcohol, BAC reduction technology can prevent the intoxicating effects. Taken after consuming alcohol, BAC reduction technology goes to work quickly to reduce or eliminate the BAC in the system. Additionally, by removing alcohol from the system, BAC reduction technology significantly reduces or eliminates most 'hangover' effects.

NPHS' BAC reduction technology, through its patented process, can safely and effectively reduce blood alcohol in virtually any circumstance.

Sobrietol Science

Out of the 33 people registered for BAC test last April 2005 at Original Mike's in Santa Ana, 29 people tested for blood alcohol concentration before and after taking a BAC reduction formula. Nine people (i.e., 30%) had a BAC reduction rate above 0.03% per hour which is 200% of a conservative 0.015% per hour normal alcohol metabolic rate. 80% of the people had a reduction rate over 0.020% per hour.
